What is roto form?
Tools: wood lathe, laser cutter, sewing machine.
My project partner, Mark, and I drew inspiration from the rotational quality of multi-petaled flowers in nature. We explored how rotational symmetry is changed when repeating segments are incrementally altered.
For the wooden base, we designed the form along with the manufacturing process.
Through paper and foam models, we tested out feasability and aesthetic properties of the form.
