I believe unwanted items always have potential to be repurposed. I recieved a hand-me down skirt, and did not enjoy how it looked. Despite disliking both the cut and the pattern on the skirt, I found a different way of wearing it.
With leftover fabric from building scrolls for my Chinese lion dance team in high school, I ventured into the world of sewing, inspired by the skirt redesign.
Throughout this process I self-taught different sewing methods and had to find solutions for differences in material qualities.
